The Green River Regional Health Council helps to assess and define community health needs and develops action steps to address those needs. A regional report card was implemented in 1996 through the work of broad based action groups to effect changes in health status in the region, specifically in Green River's rural counties: Hancock, McLean, Ohio, Webster, and Union. Within each of these rural counties health councils or coalitions have been formed to best address that county's needs.
