On
February 12, 2007, the Kentucky Association of
Manufacturers (KAM) held a conference in Frankfort
to facilitate dialogue between many of the state's economic and business
leaders about how to protect and grow
manufacturing in the Commonwealth.

Senior Day at the Gardens will be held May
22, 2007 at the Western Kentucky Botanical
Gardens.

Assistance to Firefighters Grant
(AFG) Program |

The 2007 AFG grant
application cycle is set to open soon. Local fire
departments are eligible to apply for personal
protective equipment, fire trucks, and other tools
to better equip their firefighters. For most
departments, only a 5% cash match is
required.

the seventh annual Youth Summit, an event that
encourages teens to prepare for the
future.

Senior Day in
Frankfort |
Approximately 400 area seniors from all seven
counties in the GRADD visited Frankfort during the
Legislative Session to meet with their
Legislators, discuss the current budget and senior
issues, and visit the House of Representatives and
Senate.
Some of the issues discussed included:
There's No Place Like My
Home Campaign, Medicare Part D, and Elder
Abuse. |
