Area Agency on Aging The Green River Area Agency on Aging is part of a nationwide Network on Aging under the direction of the US Administration on Aging. The primary responsibility of the Area Agency on Aging is for the implementation of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, and assisting in the administration of state programs under the supervision of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department for Aging and Independent Living and local programs serving older Kentuckians.
The Area Agency of Aging and Independent Living (AAAIL) is designated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky to develop and administer an Area Plan on Aging. The Area Plan provides for a comprehensive delivery system of services to seniors in the seven-county area of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster Counties. These seven counties make up the Green River Area Development District (GRADD). Administration The AAAIL is administered by the GRADD staff, advised by the Green River Area Council on Aging and is operated under the supervision of the GRADD Board of Directors. |
