The Aging and Disability Resource Market is a new program funded in part by the state through the Kentucky Department for Aging and Independent Living, Cabinet for Health and Family Services. It is designed to provide a "one-stop" specialty resource and counseling center, targeting services for the elderly and individuals with mental retardation and/or development disabilities.
The goal of this project is to provide easier access to services and support, save time in navigating the often complex system of care, offer supported decision making, and encourage individuals to assume personal responsibility for their care. The target populations are people 60+, adults with physical disabilities, family members and caregivers, and individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities. The services offered are outreach, information and assistance, referrals, follow-up, advocacy, counseling, case management, health education and assisting with access to services.
